On 8 and 21 February, the Ombudswoman Loreta Tauginienė met with members of the Lithuanian University Rectors’ Conference and the Lithuanian University College Conference of Directors. At the meetings, the Ombudswoman pointed to the need for higher education and research institutions to promote academic ethics by implementing measures to ensure it. “The implementation of measures promoting academic ethics is tantamount to social innovation that inspires organizational change”, said the Ombudswoman. She also invited academia to discuss the existing issues of academic ethics and to search for solutions. One of the main operating priorities of the Office this year is the organization of preventive measures against unethical behaviour for the academia.
