Data Management in Research: MRU and the Office Join Forces

On April 2, 2025, from 10:00 to 12:00, the seminar “Fundamentals of Research Data Management” will take place, aimed at the academic community and anyone interested in research data management, openness, and ethical standards. The event is part of Mykolas Romeris University’s Open Science seminar series.

The seminar will feature a presentation by Dr. Justina Pociūnaitė-Ott, a researcher currently working at the University of Twente (Netherlands). Her presentation will introduce the FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and their application in psychological research. In her postdoctoral research, Justina analyzes experiences of grief over time and how these are related to one’s close social environment.

The Ombudsperson for Academic Ethics and Procedures of the Republic of Lithuania, Dr. Reda Cimmperman, will present the Guidelines for Assessing Compliance with Research Ethics, officially approved in Lithuania. These guidelines place particular emphasis on data management – the word “data” is mentioned 278 times throughout the document.

The event will be held in a hybrid format – both in-person and online. Those attending in person are invited to register in order to receive a reminder and seminar materials by email: Registration link.

Participants joining remotely may do so without prior registration via this Teams link: Join link.

The event is organized by Mykolas Romeris University in collaboration with the Office of the Ombudsperson for Academic Ethics and Procedures of the Republic of Lithuania.
