Knowledge Gaps Among Research Ethics Committees in the Field of Emerging Technologies: New Study Findings

Research Ethics Committees (RECs) are often highly competent in reviewing medical research. However, when it comes to assessing emerging and rapidly evolving technologies, notable knowledge gaps remain.

A recent scholarly article explores the specific training needs of REC members, particularly in the context of reviewing research involving new technologies. The authors emphasize that in order to ensure ethically sound research practices, it is essential to strengthen the knowledge base of committee members concerning the challenges posed by modern technological developments.
