Join Our Seminars on Ethical AI Use in the Academic Community

In November, the advisor and senior analyst of the Office, Dr. Rima Sinickė, conducted seminars on the ethical application of artificial intelligence (AI) in academia at the Nature Research Centre and Šiauliai State College.

The seminars introduced participants to the possibilities of applying AI in research and studies, as well as the regulation of AI usage in Lithuania and globally. Special attention was given to practical issues, such as proper use of AI in academic papers, accurate acknowledgment of AI-assisted work, and preparing and implementing AI usage policies within institutions.

Additionally, at the Nature Research Centre, the topic of plagiarism was addressed, including unethical authorship practices, principles of honest authorship, and different forms of plagiarism.

Approximately 180 attendees participated in the seminars, engaging in active discussions and sharing their experiences. The participants emphasized that such seminars significantly contribute to a better understanding of the importance of ethical AI application in academia and encourage the adoption of appropriate practices within institutions.
